The benefits of Hypnosis for both mother and baby during pregnancy and labour are now well documented and include:-
- Pain management
- Reduction of fear and anxiety
- Shorter labour and fewer drugs
- Babies who sleep better and feed well
- Mothers are less tired and more confident |

Studies have found that less medical interventions, such as epidural, forceps and caesarean sections are needed when women have been taught self-hypnosis prior to the onset of labour (please call me for the references to clinical papers).
Many women also reported having a more satisfying birthing experience whilst their babies generally have a higher APGAR score.
Women have natural instincts when it comes to giving birth; with the added skills that you will learn with Confident Childbirth hypnotherapy, you can really trust your body and work with it to the greatest effect, at this wonderful time in your life. Put aside any negative notions you may have about giving birth, because you can approach the birth of your baby with confidence.
Clients receive four sessions, which prepare them on both a conscious and sub-conscious level for the whole birth process. These sessions can be taken at any time before the baby is born. Some people prefer to have them earlier on in pregnancy so that they can have more time to practice the techniques, while some people prefer them closer to the birth. Either way is just as effective, the choice is entirely yours.
In addition you will receive:-
- Information for the birthing partner
- Information for the supporting Midwife
- Techniques to practice in between sessions |

Hypnosis for Post Natal Depression
It is common in many women to feel down in the days following birth; however they generally start to feel better when their hormone levels start to rebalance again.
For as many as 10% of new mums these feelings of depression continue for months and even years as they find themselves doubting their ability to cope with the demands and responsibilities of having a new child. The latest published statistics suggest that this figure could be a great deal higher. Mothers often feel tired, overwhelmed and overly emotional. Depression is worsened by negative thought patterns and negative self-beliefs. Hypnotherapy is able to help mums who are depressed to learn to relax, take time for themselves and begin to think positively and get back to enjoying life and motherhood.
I would be delighted to hear from you to answer your questions and make an appointment and also provide you with some references to clinical research papers.
