Why Cognitive Hypnotherapy?
Cognitive hypnotherapy is an approach that is derived from the most recent research on how the mind works. Under hypnosis, the client is guided to finding the underlying cause of their problem, and then assisted in restructuring their unconscious so that the problem can be resolved.
The way you think about something affects the way you react to it. If you think a problem or obstacle is insurmountable then you will invariably fail.
It can be a mystery to us why we get locked into behaviours, beliefs and habits which we know reduce the quality of our life. It is because the unconscious tends to keep the thought patterns that generate them out of our awareness; recent research has shown that the unconscious is responsible for about 90% of our daily behaviour.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy focuses on how each person creates their issue. A number of people can experience the same event but each individual thought pattern will be very different. This can lead to very different behaviours.
Cognitive Hypnotherapy can bypass the artificial obstacles your conscious mind is putting in your way, so that you can tap directly into your own hidden potential and resources. With the use of Wordweaving™ invented by Trevor Silvester at the Quest Institute, every treatment plan is tailored to the individual and respects that everyone is different. It puts you in control with lasting results.
Many people fear that they cannot be hypnotised, or that they are not in control. Cognitive Hypnotherapy is effective with a relatively light trance; the client is in control and can stop at any time. It is not possible for a hypnotic suggestion to be accepted by the client against their will. As a trained practitioner in Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP), I combine NLP with Cognitive Hypnotherapy and if applicable Emotional Freedom Technique, to assist the client to view the world differently, and therefore think about and respond to it differently.
Hypnosis uses mind-states that we all enter voluntarily on a daily basis, have you ever been so absorbed in your thoughts that you can't remember the drive home? Or have you ever daydreamed your way through a business meeting and can't recall a word that was said? That's trance and it's a natural state which we all enter at various points throughout the day. In Cognitive Hypnotherapy we utilise these natural trance states to help you change as quickly as possible.
